Beginners should start on the gentle Blanchot run, which winds its way from the Saulire Express lift to the Altiport area. Even younger children can safely enjoy skiing on the Blanchot run. Beginners and younger skiers can also enjoy the pleasant runs in the Tougnete and Roc de Fer areas.
One of the longest runs in the area, the red Combe Vallon starts from the peak of Mont Vallon, the highest skiing point in Meribel at 2952 metres. With an overall drop of 1000 metres, this is a steep and twisting run, but is well worth the effort for the spectacular views on the way down.
Only for experts, the black run Face was developed in 1992, especially for the professionals taking part in the ladies' Olympic downhill skiing race. Another challenging black run is the recently-created Couloir Tournier, which starts from the top of the Saulire Gondola and boasts an exhilarating 37 degree slope at the top.
